Film Movement October Showing: Madeinusa

This month's selection for our Film Movement showing is Madeinusa. Join us on
Sunday, October 21 at 2:00 pm in viewing this Peruvian/Spanish film!

Directed by Claudia Llosa, the film follows Madeinusa, a 14-year-old girl who lives in an isolated village in Peru. This strange place is characterized by its religious fervor. From Good Friday at three o'clock in the afternoon to Easter Sunday, the whole village can do whatever it feels like. During the two holy days, sin does not exist. Year after year, Madeinusa, her sister Chale, and her father Don Cayo-the Mayor-maintain this tradition. However, everything changes with the arrival of Salvador, a young geologist from Lima, who will unknowingly change Madeinusa's destiny.

This film is not rated and is not recommended for those under 17.
