Only a couple weeks remain in our 2005 Summer Reading Game, and over 1,100 kids and teens have signed up to read with us! Not only have hundreds of kids earned a free book and entered to win great prizes, they?ve also enjoyed lots of storytimes, music programs, book discussions, and special performances. Our great volunteers, not to mention the Children?s Department staff, have put in hundreds of hours to make the game and all the events run smoothly.
It's not too late to get in on the fun - and the benefit - of Summer Reading. Although our program ends Saturday, August 13, there?s still plenty of time to get in some reading for pure pleasure before school starts. Drop by the library for some fun summer reads to get kids' brains in shape for the school year ahead.
